Nick Hinitt appointed UK Managing Director at KTL.

KTL is proud to announce the promotion of Nick Hinitt to UK, Managing Director, recognising his leadership, operational expertise, and commitment to driving innovation across the business.

Nick’s journey into telecommunications began long before his professional career. From a young age, he was fascinated by technology and the rapid evolution of digital communication. “Technology had always interested me, and whilst I was growing up there was great technological change,” he recalls, reflecting on the early days of personal computing and emerging mobile technologies.

After completing university, where he specialised in Electronic and Communications Engineering, Nick entered the telecoms sector through management consulting, supporting Vodafone on network upgrade projects. These early experiences laid the foundation for a career built around solving complex operational challenges. “It was a pressured environment, which I found rewarding,” he explains, describing his involvement in major network deployment programmes that helped shape his expertise in large-scale telecom infrastructure delivery.

Nick joined KTL in August 2021, initially leading the BT Vendor Swap programme. At the time, the project was still developing, presenting an opportunity to build stronger processes and operational structure. His focus was clear: improving productivity, strengthening delivery capability, and ensuring the right teams were in place to support customers.

As the programme matured, Nick’s responsibilities expanded. In his role as UK Operations Director, he championed a range of IT enhancements and operational systems improvements, helping the organisation scale effectively during a period of exceptional growth.

“We’ve made huge strides in our operational data management in recent years,” Nick explains. The introduction of mobile-integrated operational tools and enhanced database systems has allowed teams to manage data more efficiently and consistently across the business.

“It’s also enabling us to draw greater insight across Health & Safety, Design and Build which ultimately helps us deliver safely for our customers,” he says.

Now stepping into the role of UK Managing Director, Nick sees the position as both an honour and an exciting challenge. “KTL is a thriving, customer-focused business with a fantastic culture and it’s a huge privilege to become the UK Managing Director,” he says. “I’m excited for what the next few years will bring as the telecoms landscape continues to evolve and I’m invigorated by the challenge this presents.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Nick has identified three key priorities for the business: maintaining growth, continuing the rollout of operational IT systems, and taking time to assess future opportunities that will strengthen the company’s long-term direction.
