Ava KerrKTL Senior Business Development Manager attended the 2026 All-Energy Exhibition and Conference in Glasgow yesterday, the UK’s largest renewable and low-carbon energy exhibition and conference, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators focused on accelerating the energy transition.

Ava described the conference as “an insightful and energising event,” with collaboration emerging as a consistent theme throughout the day’s discussions. Reflecting on the opening session, Ava noted that speakers emphasised “the need for collaboration, local engagement, and collective action to meet the scale of change facing the energy sector.”

Industry leaders including Guy Jefferson of SP Energy Networks, Councillor Susan Aitken of Glasgow City Council, and Energy Minister Michael Shanks MP highlighted the importance of local leadership, innovation, and workforce development in achieving net-zero targets. According to Ava, the message from the sector was clear: “we have what we need — but partnership is essential if we’re going to tackle the climate crisis together.”

A key highlight for Ava was the Clean Power 2030 panel discussion, the session reinforced that industry targets remain achievable “if we get five things right: supply chain, resources, financials, grid capacity, and positivity.”

The event also aligned closely with KTL’s commitment to developing future talent, with discussions around apprenticeships and supporting young people entering the energy sector resonating strongly with KTL's own drive on Graduate Apprenticeship programmes.
