Paddy Brogan, Operations Manager Ireland

Started with KTL in 2000

I first began working with KTL as a telecoms rigger, and have had too many stand-out experiences and memories from my 20-plus years with the company to list.

Picking an absolute highlight, I would have to say receiving my Bachelor of Business, which was supported by KTL. Setting up the first warehouse and offices in Belgium and the UK were also great experiences – Brussels in particular was an interesting city, and quite a complex place to do business in, so I learned a lot during that project.

The people at KTL constantly make it fun – it’s work, and hard work, but it’s also an enjoyable place to be. I have been fortunate to have found many friends through the company – the number of birthday parties, weddings and christenings are countless. I also have plenty of stories from staff nights out, travelling abroad, Christmas parties… but maybe they’re best not shared here!

While cleaning out some old boxes at home a few weeks back with my son, we stumbled upon some old trophies of the very first KTL sports day. My team won the soccer competition and I was awarded player of the tournament. That brought back some wonderful memories, although my son was more surprised that I could actually play soccer and win!

The telecoms industry is constantly and quickly evolving, with a growing emphasis on technologies and sustainability. My hope, and expectation, is that KTL will remain at the forefront in this regard.

For me personally, I hope to continue to learn and grow with the company. Everyone who works here truly grabs challenges with both hands, and I want to continue to be part of that.
