On day four of #CIFSafety21 ‘Safe Lifting’, Safe Plant for Construction Safety Week, KTL would like to remind everyone of the importance of safety when lifting equipment for use at work, or if you have control of the use of lifting equipment, you must make sure it is safe.
• Think about what the risks are and how they can be managed i.e., damage or deterioration of the equipment caused by wet, abrasive, or corrosive environments.
• Think before lifting weights that are too heavy and exceed the load limit of the machine.
All lifting and plant operations must be properly planned and coordinated with all equipment certified and inspected by trained and competent personnel.
Safe management of lifting and plant operations is key to managing safety on site.
