Boomtown – Chapter One: The Gathering is one of the world’s most innovative music and theatrical-led festivals taking place from the 10th – 14th August at Matterley Estate in South Downs National Park, near Winchester, Hampshire.
The Gathering will bring together 76,999 festivalgoers consisting of 58,000 ticket holders, 17,999 crew, artists, traders, and guests, plus 1,000 local residents with day tickets.
KTL’s client, the UK’s number one network with superfast 5G and 4G knows how much festivalgoers at Boomtown want to make calls, message friends and family and interact on social media so, “We installed an E-Band 80 GHz high-capacity microwave link to support uninterrupted coverage for festivalgoers and boost network capacity customers,” commented Barry Neary, KTL Project Director.
Evolving from a small gathering since it was first held in 2009 to a huge pop-up city with fully themed districts and stages celebrating its ethos of a living theatre, igniting imagination and inspiring the emergence of a better world through respect, connection, creativity.
It celebrates a diverse array of musical genre including ska, folk, gypsy, reggae, world, punk, pirate and disco, via electro-swing, jazz, bluegrass, bass, jungle and techno.
The costume theme for festival goers at Chapter One is celebration; everyone is invited to create their own character, saying no to fast fashion and discover their part to play in this festival’s ever-evolving story!
