The SHEQ Director is responsible for the effective management and implementation of the company SHEQ Systems in Ireland.
Job Scope
Needs to Have
-
3rd level qualification or relevant IOSH/Safety competence with post graduate qualification in OHS is preferred or relevant industry experience
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role and experience in dealing with HSA and other external regulatory bodies
-
Experience in a Utilities Service Provision environment an advantage
-
Expert in field of health and safety and understanding of best practice in the industry

Leadership
-
Develop the behavioural safety culture within the organisation that results in a safer working environment for all

Lead a pro-active SHEQ approach –
-
Agree priorities and an annual plan for the department.

Provide advice, information, direction, policy and training on SHEQ policy and legislation
-
Champion ‘Best Practise’ and drive behaviours consistent with company policies through proactive engagement with staff.
-
Ensure that Staff well-being initiatives are part of the H&S plans.

Complete & gain sign-off for an annual budget for SHEQ Department
-
Plan to cover at a minimum: Training & the 4 main Safety Risks (Driving, Electricity, Working at Height & Plant)

Engage pro-actively with relevant Client representatives.

Provide the Input Document for the annual Management Review Meeting and provide appropriate support and feedback as part of management team

Analyse and trend H&S data and put in place actions for continuous improvement

Management Representative within the SHEQ system.
Systems Management
-
Develop and assure compliance of the company’s H&S, Environmental & Quality Management Systems, covering at a minimum:
-
Adherence to ISO Management systems - ISO 14001, 45001, 9001 & 27001
-
An effective Corrective Action process
-
Evaluation, updating and development of new and existing SHEQ documentation
-
Adherence to the PMO system for calibration and inspection of all equipment
-
An appropriate System & Site audit schedule – prioritise, set target rates and monitor adherence

Governance
-
Maintain an effective H&S Governance process – regular reviews, maintain records, close out agreed actions.

Coach and develop the team of H&S Officers and Advisors to adequately support all Project Leaders.

Analyse all SHEQ data and prepare and communicate trends & reports (Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly)
Training
-
Manage an appropriate, Ire Training Program –
-
Prioritise, budget, monitor adherence, evaluate effectiveness

Align with KTL & Client Values

Comply with Statutory requirements

Expert in H&S and ISO systems and able to distil best practice across the company
