Dan showed real pace and determination across two intense days of racing.
Race 1
From the outset, Dan held the fastest lap for most of the race, which was quicker than the lap record, but unfortunately this got beaten two laps from the end. A fierce three-way scrap into Turn10 saw Dan lose some ground and get caught by the chasing pack, but Dan fought hard to rejoin the lead group. Finishing 7th only 1.6 seconds behind the leader.
Race 2
Dan had a strong start holding the starting position of 7th. However, the well-earned positions gained in race one was unfortunately given back in race two where Dan slipped to 10th place. The battles were hard-fought, and the level of competition was high. Despite trading places throughout, the car showed excellent pace and consistency, keeping Dan in the mix with the front-runners.
Last weekend also saw the Dan Crawley team joined by an apprentice, Stuart, who is currently studying Automotive Engineering at University.
A race weekend is a valuable opportunity to learn real-world, hands-on motorsport experience - working trackside under pressure and applying engineering knowledge in a live racing environment.
It’s great to see that Dan and his team have provided a fantastic opportunity for learning, growth, and development as part of their wider commitment to supporting early careers in motorsport and engineering.
Overall, at Circuit Zandvoort the progress was clear and encouraging.
Dan concluded, “We're moving in the right direction, and Zandvoort has given us momentum for the races ahead. The fight continues!”.
