In October 2025, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Reece Van Belkum took on the Move or Change Challenge to raise funds and awareness for iLoveBoobies, a charity that provides free breast cancer screenings to women in underserved communities across South Africa.
Over the course of the challenge, Reece completed an incredible 42.2 km run, a 310 km cycle, a 10 km swim, 20 hours of gym training, and 2 hours of other sporting activities a total of 41 hours and 29 minutes of exercise across the month!
Each step, stroke, and pedal - bringing hope for thousands of women who may not have access to early detection services.
Through the initiative led by the Island Foodies Foundation, Reece joined a community of changemakers working toward the goal of funding 2,500 new breast cancer screenings.
Since 2017, iLoveBoobies has already delivered more than 14,009 free screenings, 593 have been referred for follow-up diagnosis and care - saving lives and spreading awareness.
What makes Reece’s journey even more inspiring is his belief that breast cancer awareness is not just a women’s issue, it’s a human one. His participation highlights the importance of male involvement in the conversation, proving that compassion and advocacy - know no gender.
Sporting his signature bright socks and branded merchandise, Reece carried the message that together, we can move for change, raise awareness, and build a healthier future for all.
