Leon's fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice

600km down, over 22% of the way there — Leon Chevallier's Danube Kayak Adventure is well underway.

 

KTL's Leon Chevallier has now covered more than 600km along the River Danube. That's meant 11-hour days on the water, tough portages, temperatures hitting 38°C, and taking on the river's only white-water rapid.

Along the way he's paddled past medieval castles and historic landmarks, through some genuinely stunning scenery, and got a real feel for the communities living along the river.

 

This adventure came from a new chapter in life. After a major personal change, Leon found himself looking for a new challenge, and after hearing a Team Power of 1’s story at a Town Hall, he knew the Danube was it: three months, 2,700km, right across the heart of Europe.

 

One of the best parts of the trip so far? Meeting fellow kayaker Titus — his friendship and local know-how have made the journey even more special.

This is an adventure but also a fundraising effort for a cause that means a lot to him — raising money for the hospice that looked after his mum with such compassion in her final months. Every kilometre is for her. And every donation helps make sure other families get that same level of care when they need it most.

 

As Leon puts it: "If I can inspire other people to push their limits and challenge themselves in whatever they choose in life, then that would be amazing."
