KTL strengthens its position in the power and energy sector with a new long-term partnership.
KTL is proud to announce the award of a significant new contract with Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks), marking the latest milestone in a partnership that has spanned more than a decade. This agreement represents a strategic step forward in KTL’s continued growth across the power and energy sector, reinforcing the company’s reputation for delivering safely, reliably, and with integrity for its clients.
Following a highly competitive procurement process, KTL was appointed under the T312 (2025) Framework for Construction, Refurbishment, and Restringing of Transmission Overhead Lines (Lot 2) — covering New Build and Major Projects across Northern Ireland. KTL ranked among the top appointed contractors following detailed tender evaluations conducted by NIE Networks’ procurement team.
Under the terms of the framework, KTL will deliver Overhead Line (OHL) works across voltages from 33kV (tower lines only) through to 110kV and 275kV steel towers and wood pole structures. The scope includes asset replacement, refurbishment, uprate, and new build projects, as well as fault and emergency response services.
This award reinforces KTL’s proven capability in complex overhead line delivery and reflects the company’s strong performance history with NIE Networks. It also recognises KTL’s commitment to technical excellence, safety leadership, and sustainable delivery within critical national infrastructure.
Commitment to Safety and QualityKTL is widely recognised for its rigorous SHEQ standards and continued investment in developing skilled teams — from overhead line engineers to project management professionals — ensuring each project is delivered safely and to the highest standards of quality.
Bernard Downey, General Manager, Power at KTL, commented:
“We’re delighted to have been appointed once again by NIE Networks under this important framework.
