On Friday, October 3rd, Storm Amy swept across Ireland, bringing heavy rain and gale-force winds of up to 148 km/h. The storm caused significant disruption — from fallen trees and flooding to widespread power outages and travel delays.

Amid the aftermath, KTL crews were on the ground over the last few days, working side-by-side with our long-standing client partner, ESB Networks, to restore power and reconnect communities. At the storm’s peak, over 184,000 households and businesses were affected.

From the moment the storm warnings were issued, safety guided every decision. At KTL, safety is number one — it’s part of who we are.

Before every task, our teams assessed, planned, and protected — themselves, their colleagues, and the public.

Bernard Downey, KTL General Manager Power, commented, “I'd like to thank all our staff for their hard work, dedication, and efforts in restoring power safely and efficiently across Donegal over the past few days.”

Together, we’re proud to continue hashtag#ConnectingCommunities, even through the toughest storms.
