KTL raises €14,000 for Alzheimer Society of Ireland charity
In 2019, KTL employees were asked to short list and vote for the charity of their choice for fundraising efforts throughout the year - The Alzheimer Society of Ireland charity was selected.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services, supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their careers. The vision is an Ireland where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their careers, at the times they need support.
Fundraising initiatives by KTL staff included the VHI Women’s mini marathon, jersey days, cake sales and Christmas jumper days - money raised was matched by KTL.

A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland advocates, empowers and champions the rights of people living with dementia and their communities to quality support and services.
Dementia is one of the most pressing public health challenges facing this country today. Currently there are 55,000 people living with dementia in Ireland. 4,000 of those are under 65 and are classified as having younger onset dementia. It is estimated that the number of people living with dementia will rise to 113,000 by 2036.
