At KTL, our people are at the heart of everything we do — and Chloe Healy’s journey is a powerful example.

When Chloe began her career in Accounting and Finance, HR wasn’t the obvious path. But in under three years, she pivoted from an Accounting and Finance background into a thriving HR career, earning a promotion to HR Business Partner and receiving a KTL Values Award along the way.

Chloe explains that while she pursued Accounting and Finance because of her “aptitude for numbers and analytical work,” she consistently found herself drawn elsewhere. “Throughout both school and university, I consistently found myself drawn to modules related to Human Resources and people management,” she says.

After gaining experience in an accounting firm, she realised her motivations were better aligned with “a career focused on people, collaboration, and cross-functional engagement rather than purely financial work.”

That realisation led Chloe to return to college to complete a CIPD Diploma in Human Resources — a move she describes as both “engaging and rewarding.” After building practical HR experience, she joined KTL in April 2024 as an HR Generalist, supporting both the Power and Telecom divisions.

Starting in a new industry was not without its challenges. “Moving into an environment where I needed to quickly understand new terminology, operational priorities, and business challenges was initially quite demanding,” she reflects. However, she credits adaptability and strong relationships for helping her succeed: “It taught me the importance of being adaptable, asking questions, and building strong relationships with colleagues who could share their knowledge.”

Since joining the business, standout moments for Chloe include supporting overseas linesmen as they settled into Ireland and KTL, contributing to the wellbeing committee and policy development, attending career fairs, assisting with the Annual Employment Review, and supporting the PICW development programme. She particularly values “getting to meet and get to know KTL employees,” reinforcing her belief that HR is built on connection.

In January 2026, Chloe progressed into her current role as HR Business Partner within the Power Division. The transition marked what she describes as “a shift from a broad, hands-on role to a more focused, strategic one.” Personally, it requires “stronger influence, greater commercial awareness, and the confidence to challenge and advise.”

Her dedication was recognised when she received a KTL Values Award in 2025 — something she says came as “a delightful surprise.” The award, she shared, “meant a lot to me. I was originally drawn to KTL because of its strong values and the importance it places on its people.”

Chloe added, “The focus on teamwork, collaboration, innovation, flexibility, and recognising employees’ contributions really stood out to me, and it’s something I’ve continued to experience since joining.”

For Chloe, those values are central to KTL’s culture. “KTL’s values of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, Innovation, and People and Diversity contribute to the overall company culture,” she explains. “Great people are what make KTL a great place to work.”

With KTL’s support, Chloe completed a mediation certificate, strengthening her ability to manage employee relations, and she is currently studying for a BA (Hons) in HRM Strategy and Practice. Chloe shares, “My current course is giving me deeper insight into HR and helping me grow professionally as I develop in my career.”

Looking ahead, Chloe is excited about “supporting management and teams in the Power Division as it continues to grow,” helping to shape talent development and promote collaboration. Her advice to others? “Being proactive, open to learning, and taking ownership has been key to my career growth.”

We wish Chloe every success in her new role.
