The Capital Inspection Programme is designed to identify and mitigate potential hazards on the overhead line network — ensuring that every pole inspected remains safe for the public and free from faults or hazards. Each inspection provides valuable data for early detection of issues and a plan for follow on maintenance.

The team completed over 6,200 collective working days in all weather conditions with a safety-first mindset to deliver these results.

Patrollers such as Eric Martin, Site Supervisor, Auditor and Trainer, describe the job as one that demands commitment: “Hail, rain or shine, we’re out.” As Eric explains, “You’re out in nature, in the fresh air, meeting people, and ensuring the network is safe for the public — and that’s really rewarding.”

These tools, combined with strong coordination, training, and a safety-first culture, ensure consistency and confidence in every inspection delivered.
