Paddy McNamara

Finance Manager, KTL
“The journey so far has been hugely positive.”

Tell us about yourself?

I’m from Carbury but living in Allenwood, Co. Kildare. I did a carpentry apprenticeship after I left school then worked at this for circa 5-6 years before returning to Maynooth University as a mature student to complete an undergraduate degree in Business and Accounting, along with a master’s in accounting. I joined KTL in November 2021 as finance manager.

What does your role involve?

My role involves providing a support function to all aspects of the business, as required. This can range from providing accurate information for key decision-making, to designing and implementing monthly controls, right through to support and training within the finance team.

Describe your journey with KTL?

The journey so far with KTL has been hugely positive. The role has a large level of responsibility, but I always feel supported working closely with the finance team.  Each day brings a new challenge, which I enjoy and so far, I have gained very valuable experience.

How would you describe the KTL culture?

The KTL culture is fun, respectful, and caring. I feel valued as an individual and within the team. Everyone has time to have a chat and catch up, whilst continually getting the work done. There is a family feel - where everyone is willing to help each other out at any time.

What do you enjoy most about working at KTL?

The KTL environment suits my personality, it is busy but rewarding. The level of job satisfaction, along with gratitude from management is something that, as a combination is difficult to find. For me, this is one of the most important aspects of any job.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I am working hard in my current role with the aim of moving into something more commercially orientated in the future within KTL.
