Paul Korzeniewski

Project Director
“…this has helped me settle in well and pick up the reins of my projects quickly with all the help and support needed in all areas”.

Tell us about yourself?

In 1997, at just 16 years of age, Paul began his telecoms journey as an apprentice in the Royal Signals. Over the next 23 years Paul progressed within the telecoms industry for a major OEM and also by working with some leading telecommunications companies in the UK as Delivery Manager, Senior Manager, and Head of ESN Coverage before joining KTL in late 2020 as a Senior Project Manager.

Amazingly, Paul has already been promoted within KTL to Project Director. We spoke to Paul about his role and how he managed to gain promotion in such a short space of time.

How have you found working for KTL since joining?

KTL is a very innovative company with a great team behind it, this has helped me settle in well and pick up the reins of my projects quickly with all the help and support needed in all areas.

What would you attribute to being promoted so quickly?

I have been in telecoms since my apprenticeship at 16, covering nearly all roles and areas throughout my career (however, still learning every day). As the programme scaled into new areas I bridged the gap between build and design in the initial phases which enabled me to stand out competently at managing the processes and activities commercially and physically, whilst maintaining high quality and safety standards.

What are the main differences in responsibilities in your new role versus the old role?

In terms of my previous role as SPM (senior project manager), which was specific to an acquisition and design area, I now have the responsibility of the full end to end process for a major telecommunications client in the UK. This covers all aspects of design, acquisition and build, ensuring we have efficient handover between workstreams whilst keeping the activity level high in all areas which enables greater control across the program ensuring the right output is achieved in all areas”.

What are your plans for the new role moving forward?

“To evolve the process across multiple projects creating synergies that increase the output to the client, thus driving repeat instructions and continuing the relationship and trust of KTL’s clients”.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys hill walking, rugby, and spending time with family.
