KTL SHEQ Coordinator
“Despite being remote, there’s still a great sense of teamwork and collaboration at KTL” .

When did you join KTL?
I joined KTL in February 2025 after having previously worked as a help and safety advisor for a MEWP hire & contract lifting company, although my background is mainly in warehousing & logistics. I’m on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave, but it’s all good experience and I’m enjoying being here!

What is your role and responsibilities?
I provide general support to the SHEQ team, including stats & reporting, helping maintain the integrated management system, updating policies and procedures and risk assessments, sending out SHEQ communications & bulletins, and helping to implement improvements within the SHEQ department & the wider business.

Using my previous experience as a warehouse manager, I have provided additional support to the warehouse teams in both Ireland and the UK by carrying out health and safety audits & helping to ensure legal compliance.

Since starting here I have been involved in several initiatives, such as implementing a new RAMS template and developing a supplier scorecard to help track performance & compliance of our suppliers.

I have also recently attended site, to meet some of the operational teams, and to gain a better knowledge and understanding of how the operatives on site work day to day.

What do you enjoy most about working at KTL?
The work life balance at KTL is really good, there’s a lot of flexibility. However, despite being remote there’s still a great sense of teamwork and collaboration within the company. I’m also enjoying the challenge of learning a new industry and getting to grips with different types of work we do at KTL.

What makes KTL different, and sets it apart from other companies you’ve worked for?
KTL really cares about it’s employees and their health, safety & wellbeing with these always in the forefront as number one priority. The company also cares about social value, and offers multiple employee benefit schemes, and wellbeing initiatives to get involved in.
Additionally, there’s also plenty of opportunities for development & progression within the company, and even though I’ve not been with the company very long, I can attest KTL do genuinely care about developing and investing in their existing employees.

How do you like to enjoy your time outside work?
I’m really into anything to do with cars! I’ve currently got a classic mini which I’m in the process of restoring which is proving to be quite a task but it’s getting there albeit very slowly! I also enjoy video games & technology, and for contrast I also enjoy the odd bit of gardening as well!
