In addition to the existing Critical Illness Benefit, KTL will now be providing another benefit for our long serving employees. Employees with five years or more service will be entitled to Income Protection Benefit.
This will apply to employees who are long term absent due to illness or injury. The benefit will entitle employees to a payment of 75% of salary, less relevant social welfare entitlements, which will start after an employee has been absent for 26 weeks due to illness or injury. This payment will continue until the employee reaches age 65, or is fit to return to work.
