The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of a project delivery with a focus on client management, project commercials and project delivery. The responsibility for the client relationship lies with the Sr Project Manager.
Job Scope
Needs to Have
-
Degree in relevant discipline/equivalent experience & Project Management Accreditation an advantage
-
At least 7 years experience in a Telecoms Design PM role essential
-
Strong understanding of project methodology
-
Strong understanding of the principles of accounting in relation to project P&Ls
-
Excellent oral and written communications
-
Strong supervisory and coaching skills
-
Strong organisational ability with experience in MS Project or similar project tools
-
Proven people skills in delivery of project KPI’s and experience in a client facing role

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
-
The effective leadership and performance management of project team[s], including the development of team[s] and individuals in partnership with HR and other departments
-
Ensure annual appraisals for all project resources take place
-
Ensure project delivery team has organised the necessary safety training/inductions to undertake site work
-
Liaise with the technical team to organise technical training days for project team as required
-
Produce regular resource forecasts and liaise with Operations & HR to ensure the effective resourcing of the project
OPERATIONAL
-
Implementation and maintenance of relevant approved processes, procedures, health and safety and technical standards and ensure their consistency with requirements of other departments and clients
-
Management of the relevant sub-contractors, monitor performance in terms of time, cost, quality and health and safety
-
Ensure familiarity of client specifications and ensure sites are audited as per relevant SLA. Ensure any changes to specification are documented and change management procedures are implemented

Oversee Quality Management Process for the project
-
Regular forecast for project requirements for materials and plant ordering
-
Undertake all necessary actions and support to facilitate achievement of delivery team targets in terms of time [programme], cost and quality
-
Responsible for ensuring the monthly governance meeting takes place and all relevant stakeholders are present
HEALTH & SAFETY
-
Ensure all project activities/project team are fully compliant with the Company Safety Management System and relevant statutory regulations
-
Ensure Site Project Managers complete all necessary documentation e.g. H&S Plan, Site Survey checklist, Materials List (if applicable), Site Completion Pack (if applicable)
-
Ensure that sub-contractors have received appropriate safety training
-
Regular client H&S reviews to ensure standards are being adhered to and any necessary improvements implemented
ENVIRONMENT
-
Ensure all project activities/project team are fully compliant with all the requirements of the Environmental Management System
-
Responsible for ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with company’s environmental standard i.e. site waste disposal, materials used etc
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
-
Responsible for building and maintaining the overall client relationship
-
Be proactive in building relationships with overall client project team
-
Invite regular client communication meetings to ensure effective communication across the project(s)
-
Main point of contact for any client relationship issues that may arise
COMMERCIAL AWARENESS
-
Responsible for overall project governance and ensure all project KPI’s and SLA’s are met
-
Manage all aspects of the project commercials including compiling weekly P&L and reporting to the Project Board
-
Report revenue to the Commercial Controller on a weekly basis
-
Quarterly project revenue forecasting
-
Vetting and management of site specific client quotations compiled by project managers
-
Evaluation and Certification of all relevant supplier and sub-contractor invoices
-
Ensure tracking and agreement of all out of scope works
-
Build client relationship to the extent that the company would always be considered for future business opportunities and would be seen as a preferred service provider

Work with the Business Development team on any new tenders as required
COMMUNICATION
-
Attend project/programme/client meetings, as required, to ensure effective communication across the project

Ensure the monthly project governance meeting takes place each month and manage the action points arising from those meetings
