Job Scope
To operate and manage the installation of wood poles on the ESBN system and all associated stay anchors and earths. The PICP/Poling machine operator must ensure that the site construction is done to client specification and in accordance with SHEQ standards

Need to have
-
Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role

All relevant H&S accreditation and certification (Safe Pass, ESBN, etc)
-
Current ESB PICP/Poling machine operator Authorisation (If completing one of the attached roles, the relevant certification for that position must be met.) In the case of the operative being trained to multi task, both levels of certification must be met.

Full Drivers Licence (PICP)

Poling Machine operator (Trailer Licence, 180 Deg excavator ticket or 360 deg excavator ticket,)

Experience in managing teams in a fast paced and process driven environment
Need to do
-
Responsible for ensuring that all relevant site documentation and client paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely fashion
-
Ensure that site is correctly cordoned off and all safety protocols adhered to
-
Ensure that all relevant Client procedures are adhered to at all times
-
Liaise with Client personnel i.e. Person Issuing Work, Work Organiser and Telemess Coordinator to ensure all works are completed in accordance with correct procedure.

Carry out a JSSP prior to site works being completed, communicate the findings to all on site.

Check/Use safe digging practices. Check for overhead lines/check underground service drawings.

Leave land owners property in a neat manor, as was found.

Check and maintain the plant being used, accept responsibility for plant being used under his or her control.

Complete daily plant check sheets for the plant.

Ensure a stocked first aid kit is kept on site at all times and KTL van is equipped with fire extinguisher. Record and report all accidents and near misses and submit to PM and H&S Manager in a timely fashion

Inspect materials (either client supplied or purchased for purpose of the site construction) to ensure that all materials are to specification and in good order and to promptly report any faults or irregularities to the relevant Manager

Ensure safety equipment and correct usage of tools and equipment and follow safe working practices and site security protocols

Have an updated Health and Safety Plan available on site at all times and where additional hazards identified to draw up a risk assessment is completed and where necessary a method statement to cover relevant activity

Ensure that all relevant H&S paperwork is on site available for audit, as required

Report any damage to company vehicles, tools or equipment to Plant Manager/PM/Line Manager

Responsible for the day to day implementation of the SHEQ systems on all KTL sites
-
Be aware of and monitor implementation of the Company’s Safety Statement and relevant legislative regulations

Escalate any breaches of H&S outside of Crew Leaders remit to the Project Manager
