Job Scope:

The CAD Manager will manage all the aspects of layout and planning, drawing design schemes for Telecoms & Power schematics using AutoCAD or equivalent programme. The CAD manager is responsible for verification and reviewing of drawings in various design modelling software formats.

Needs to Have:

  • 3rd Level qualification in Engineering/Design or equivalent working experience

  • At least 2 years CAD design experience in the Telecoms and Power Industry to include layouts and schematics

  • Proficient user of AutoCAD with 3D modelling experience a distinct advantage

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office

  • Experience of managing multiple projects within in a tight deadline and delivering efficiencies across all aspects of computer aided design and surveying. 

  • Full Driving License

Needs to Do:

  • On request of work from the Project teams you will need to prioritise and deliver, in a timely fashion, the required work within the job scope.

  • Establish structures, policies and procedures for the CAD department.

  • Set up and produce CAD drawings, layouts & schematics.

  • Will need to define and keep updated Company CAD standards

  • Conduct some site visits and liaise with clients when required

  • Keep up to date with current and new surveying hardware/software for purpose of inputting and outputting geographical information into digital format.  Generate written technology evaluations for future software purchases and provide leadership and vision to the company in CAD.

  • Keep up to date with client specifications (Both CAD standards and requirements and Telecom Tech and build requirements).  

  • To track all client CAD spec revisions and keep a centralised back-up and log of all client revisions.

  • Ensure that drawings are issued to client specifications and SLAs

  • Instruct required persons on the requirements of capturing information and acceptable formats to present to CAD Drafter

  • Participate in design reviews with the Project team as required

  • Supply technical and documented support in CAD standards, (Internal and External)

  • Maintain CAD document archive and retrieval for projects, Scheduling drawing completion, Archive completed project CAD files. Carry-out on-site Geo-Surveys for the purpose of creating geological maps or models.

  • Update KTL OSSP tool with Project Team input as and when required.

  • Available for overseas travel if the need arises.

  • Any other tasks as requested by your line manager.  

Needs to Be:

  • Able to manage time effectively and work to multiple deadlines with the ability to manage a range of project and design tasks simultaneously

  • Able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Able to produce work of excellent quality and accuracy
