Wind Energy
KTL has formed a JV with Gaeltec Utilities Limited in 2007 to provide turnkey services to the wind energy Industry. We were successful in a tender for Balance of Plant on ESB Wind Developments’ first major wind farm build (22 MW). We were also successful on a joint ESBWD / Coillte wind farm (26MW).
The scope of work on these projects included:
- 110kV Sub Station design, supply, install and commission (including 63 kVA transformer)
- MV Cabelling - design, supply, install and test (65km of cable installed)
- 20kV interconnection line between 2 wind farms (8km) – design, supply and install, including Fibre Optic wrap.
- Design, supply, install & test 22km of Fibre Optic cable – 8km wrapped on overhead lines and 14km in underground ducts.
- Design, supply, install and commission of AC Distribution system incl. back-up diesel generator; 20kV switchgear, DC Systems & Earthing System
Microgeneration
KTL is pleased to announce the signing of a global agreement with C&F Wind-Energy for the installation of Micro turbines on Telecom sites. The first turbine will be installed on a telecom site in March 2010.
