SOLAS Overhead Powerlines Operative Training Course
SOLAS are working with employers to provide Industry led training courses for unemployed people. Kerry Education and Training Board are currently offering a traineeship in Overhead Powerlines Operative. This is a 33 week course that will take 16 unemployed eligible persons and train them to work safely and competently on overhead powerlines. Certification for the course included the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering – Overhead Lines. Trainees also receive a range of additional CSCS courses which include HIAB Cert, Mast/Tower Climber-Rescuer, MEWP Cert etc.
KTL support SOLAS by offering work placements to trainees from the course. Individuals interested in the course can find out more information by speaking to their Department of Social Protection case officer and asking to be referred to the course.
